Halloween – No Tricks; Just Truth 31.10

By Daniel Senessie

The Trick

There is a movement gathering pace at lightning speed. The evidence of this movement can be seen in everything from the movies, music, educational institutions, and literature around the world.  Among both old and young, people are participating in things that have been directly influenced by this movement. Activities and T.V programs testify of people conversing and even seeing and hearing spirits and ghosts. Truly this movement is not ‘make believe’, it is not fiction, it is not a figment of one mans imagination.

The doctrine of man’s consciousness in death, especially the belief that spirits of the dead return to minister to the living, has prepared the way for modern spiritualism, historically celebrated on 31stOctober every year, commonly known as Halloween.  Almost all religions have this one basic concept that when you die, you don’t really die you just transition into a higher or lower phase of existence.

But let’s ask a few questions, to lead us to answers of truth with respect to this modern movement, and the state of those that have died. READ ON….

The Truth

  • Q1: Can God communicate with us from heaven?
  • A1: The answer is ‘Yes’ (Matt 3:17).
  • Q2: Can Jesus communicate with us from heaven?
  • A2: The answer is ‘Yes’ (Acts 9:5).
  • Q3: Can angels in heaven communicate with us here on earth?
  • A3: Again the answer to this is ‘Yes’ (Luke 2:9-11).
  • Q4: All those in heaven can communicate with us, but what about those that have died, my granddad or mom or best friend?
  • A4: The answer to this is NO. Those that have passed away CANNOT communicate with us because “the dead know not anything” (Eccl 9:5-6).

Here two misconceptions are made clear with respect to modern day spiritualism:

  • Q: If the dead are in heaven before God and holy angels, and privileged with knowledge far exceeding what they before possessed, why should they not communicate with us that are still alive?
  • A: The answer to both questions is that they are not in heaven because we are told that when you die you are dead, with no ability to converse because at your funeral, you “…return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return” (Gen 3:19). Along with that the day somebody dies their thoughts perish (Psalms 146:3,4)

Furthermore God has expressly forbidden all pretended communication with departed spirits, declared by the Bible to be ‘the spirits of devils’. {1}

Your Choice

There are few who have any true conception of the deceptive power of spiritualism and the danger of coming under its influence. Many tamper with it merely to gratify their curiosity. They have no real faith in it and would be filled with horror at the thought of yielding themselves to the spirits’ control.

Halloween’s origin finds itself associated with the living communicating with the dead, and it is a plot by the devil to deceive many in this season. You don’t need to find comfort or seek advice in those that are dead to help with your present needs.

Jesus is available to you today why not communicate with Him.
